Colour Atmosphere Expression
Troy lives in the lovely seaside city of Brighton on the south coast of the UK
Sunshine and bird song pour in from the garden as she works in her little glass roofed studio
As both a Painter and a Printmaker, I blur the boundaries between the two, mixing media within each image.
Enjoying the process of creation by experimenting - knowing and breaking the rules - keeps my work fresh and exciting.
I add collage, watercolour, acrylic, and gilding to my Paintings, Etchings, Collagraphs and Fine Art Giclèe prints. The influence of each medium plays an important part in determining the character of the final piece.
My landscapes and skies are inspired by walks with Boris our lovely woofy dog from the RSPCA.
Splashes of richly pigmented paint, bold sgraffito, layers of textural collage, sculplural impasto, gossamer glazes and evocative touches of delicate detail combine to capture the atmosphere, essence and timeless beauty of each place.
My wildlife and animal paintings and etchings are rich in character and expression, their personalities come alive, touching your heart as they make you smile.
By contrasting bold expressive brush strokes with intricate detail I bring the animals to life and create the atmosphere of their worlds.
All my life I've lived by the sea around the world: on the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica, on the Gold Coast of West Africa, beside the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas and on the New England Coast in the US, before raising my family near Brighton's famous pebble beach.
I paint beautiful atmospheric seascapes, dramatic skies and gorgeous golden beaches. Touches of gold and sparkling mica flakes create movement and light. Echoes and flavours of time spent living on the Gold Coast of West Africa and in the Caribbean enrich my work.
My work has been featured in Sussex Life, Brighton Journal, Arty Magazine, Brighton & Hove Life and many others.
I contrast my traditional printmaking (using hand printing techniques used by artists for centuries) with cutting edge digital techniques. My Fine Art Giclèe Prints are created using the latest digital art technology.
My expertise on Fine Art Giclèe printing is well recognized - I am the contributing author on the process of Giclèe Printing in the highly acclaimed printmaking encyclopedia 'Traditional and Contemporary Printmaking Techniques'.
In 2009 I illustrated a book written by a collector of my work which has been published to worldwide acclaim.
My recent collage and mixed media work focuses on expression and texture.
My new Fine Art Giclèe Prints are of extremely high quality.
I print each of my new A2 collection in my Brighton studio using a professional gallery quality printer with the finest pigment based lightfast inks on Somerset Velvet fine art paper by St Cuthbert's Mill.
